Svetlin Vassilev, Greek Mythology

Danae & Perseus

Apollo & Daphne

(via burdge)

Once, Plato said, “According to Greek mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs, and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate parts, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other halves.”

However, the path that leads to that other person is hard. Zeus made it so. It’s a treacherous road full of ridges, bogs, mountains, and valleys. Nothing about it is easy. Many times, people ask themselves why they even bother. Why they even want to keep going in order to find their other half.

But come the end of the road, when they see their other half traveling towards them, ragged and worn from the perilous odyssey, they see that not only was it worth it, but that they can journey together for the rest of time; side by side, hand in hand.
